How do I... Make An Appointment?
Routine Appointments
These may be made by telephone (0141 211 9045) or by calling at the surgery. Routine appointments may be made well in advance, which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements.
On-the-Date Appointments
These are available on the day and should be booked as early as possible. The times of these appointments are set in advance - it is not always possible to provide times requested by patients.
If You Cannot Keep An Appointment
Please inform us as soon as possible as this enables another patient to be seen. Failure to keep three appointments will result in a warning letter being sent to you - failing to keep a further appointment following this letter may result in your name being removed from the practice list.
Late Arrival
Anyone arriving after their appointment time no longer has an appointment, as the doctor/nurse has other patients booked. You will be required to make a new appointment.
How do I... Obtain A Home Visit?
Please telephone before 10.00am if you require a home visit that day. Emergency visits only will be arranged after that time. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to requests. You may be telephoned by a doctor or nurse as it may be that your problem could be dealt with by telephone, or a nurse could be sent, or a hospital admission arranged.
Several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it takes to do a home visit therefore home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Weekend And Night Cover
Between 6.00pm and 8.00am Monday to Friday the surgery is closed. In order to obtain medical advice at these times, please dial: 0141 211 9045 - you will be given the emergency number. A receptionist at the call centre will answer your call. She will either:
a) Arrange advice from a doctor or nurse
b) Invite you to attend the centre to be seen by the doctor
c) Arrange a home visit if you are too ill to visit the centre
Transport to and from the centre is available if you cannot arrange this yourself. Please take a leaflet from reception for further details. Out-of-hours cover is now the responsibility of GGNHSB.
Further information and advice can also be obtained from NHS 24.

Minor Illness Service
Many local pharmacies can now provide treatment for many minor conditions without a doctor's prescription. If you experience a minor illness, check with the pharmacist - if they are unable to help they will advise you to see a doctor.
