Services Available From The Practice
All GP practices are contracted to provide 'essential services', that is, basic treatment of ill people. We also provide various 'additional services' and 'enhanced services', details of which are available from reception and are contracted by GGNHSB.
Clinics
Antenatal Clinic: Friday pm
Patients are seen by the community midwife by appointment.
Asthma Clinic: Thursday pm
The is run by the practice nurse and is by appointment only.
Child Immunisation/Child Surveillance: Thursday and Friday
This clinic is run by the health visitors and is by appointment only.
Diabetic Clinic: Monday 9.00-11.00am and 1.00-4.00pm (once per month)
This is run by the practice nurse in conjunction with the doctor by appointment only.
A dietician and podiatrist also consult at this clinic.
Letters of invitation will be sent at the appropriate time via our recall system.
Well Woman: Thursday Afternoon and Evening
This clinic is run by the practice nurse for smears, postnatal checks and discussion of women's health issues.
Minor Surgery: Friday 4.00-5.00pm (fortnightly)
Dr Wirth and Dr Ul-Haq carry out minor surgical procedures by appointment only.
Travel: Monday 5.00-6.30pm and 6.30-7.30pm
Please allow at least four weeks from appointment to travel date to ensure adequate cover. If less than four weeks notice is given, we cannot guarantee that an appointment will be available on time for departure due to this being a busy clinic.
The practice is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre and can provide a wide range of vaccines not available on the NHS. No charge will be made for any vaccine and advice available on the NHS to registered patients but a charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations not covered by the NHS or to patients not registered with the practice.
A list of charges is available on the 'Travel Notice Board' in the waiting area.
Chronic Disease: Various Times
Clinics are run by the practice nurse to ensure regular checks are carried out on our patients with chronic disease/conditions - heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure etc. Details of clinics and times are available from reception.
Flu Vaccinations: October - December
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes.
Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.
